Mayor’s Message March 2026

3/2/2026

A Strange Winter in Huntsville

It has been a strange and unusually warm winter. Before we know it, our kids will be out hunting for Easter eggs. When I saw someone wakeboarding on Pineview on Christmas Day, I had concerns, but I certainly didn’t expect to see the reservoir without ice in March and very little snow on the ground.

We are still hoping for some spring snow to help bolster the mountain snowpack and support our water storage heading into summer.

Planning Commission Leadership Update

Allen Endicott recently announced his resignation as Chair of the Planning Commission after several years of dedicated service to Huntsville.

I want to personally thank Allen for the time, energy, and thoughtful leadership he has given to our town. He stepped into the role at a very important time, and his steady and fair approach helped the Commission work through several significant issues. Public service often happens behind the scenes and rarely receives the recognition it deserves, but Allen’s contributions have made a real and lasting difference.

While Allen leaves very big shoes to fill, I have asked Jeff Larsen to serve as the new Chair of the Planning Commission. Jeff has served on the Commission for several years and has a strong understanding of the issues, the process, and the responsibility that come with the role. I appreciate his willingness to step forward and continue this important work.

Please join me in thanking Allen for his dedicated service and in supporting Jeff as he takes on this leadership position. Our town is fortunate to have both of these individuals willing to serve.

Thank You, Neighbors and Friends

As we look ahead to spring, stay tuned for upcoming events and opportunities to connect with your neighbors. Thank you for being great neighbors and for being such an important part of our Huntsville community.
