Major Changes Coming to Port Ramp This Summer

The U.S. Forest Service will be making significant upgrades to the Port Boat Ramp this year. While these improvements will be beneficial long term, they may create some short term impacts for Huntsville residents.

Weekends are already busy, and we will likely see increased midweek boat traffic using the ramp at Cemetery Point.

We meet regularly with a group of Pineview shareholders and have worked with all parties to reduce impacts on our residents whenever possible. One example is the need for a boat decontamination station to help prevent the spread of quagga mussels. Several locations in and around Huntsville were initially considered, and we were able to work with stakeholders to identify a more appropriate site. That facility will now be located west of the base of Trappers Loop Road.

More details will be coming from the Forest Service, but residents should expect boating limits on Pineview Reservoir at times due to limited parking at Cemetery Point and Anderson Cove.

We have already shared preliminary information on the Town Facebook page and will continue posting updates and links at HuntsvilleUtah.gov, including information from the U.S. Forest Service Uinta Wasatch Cache National Forest
