January Mayors Message

1/5/2026

Mayor’s Message

I want to wish you and your family a Happy New Year as we say goodbye to 2025 and welcome 2026. The new year gives us an opportunity to reflect on the past and, just as importantly, to look ahead to the future.

Please know that Town officials are working hard, day in and day out, to ensure that Huntsville remains a vibrant and welcoming community, offering a high quality of life for all of us who are fortunate to live here.

Snowflake Ball Success

The Snowflake Ball on New Year’s Eve was a huge success. My sincere thanks to Chandlyr Shupe and everyone on the Entertainment Committee for organizing such a well attended and enjoyable evening. A great time was had by all.

Looking ahead, many more exciting events are planned for 2026 as we celebrate our country’s Semiquincentennial, marking the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding.

Employee and Volunteer Awards

During our annual Town Employee Christmas Party, we had the opportunity to recognize several outstanding employees and volunteers. This is always one of my favorite events of the year, as it allows us to honor those among us who truly go above and beyond in service to our community.

Congratulations and heartfelt thanks to our award recipients:

Employees of the Year

Beckki Endicott, Town Clerk and Office Manager

Blaine Vernon, Maintenance Supervisor

Volunteers of the Year

Tommie Christie, Vision Committee Chair

Ron Gault, Water Department Manager

Thank you to everyone who contributes their time, talent, and dedication to making Huntsville such a special place to live.

Wishing you a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2026.

Richard L. Sorensen
