MAYOR’S MESSAGE

Summer is officially over, and the nights are getting cooler. Thanks to everyone who attended our Toast concert (Bread Tribute Band) in the park on August 31st. It was a great event with some 800 attendees, andI heard many positive comments. While we have not received the final accounting, we expect to receive a significant donation from the band that will help fund our audio/visual systems in the new Community Center and Town Hall.

Speaking of the Town Hall and Community Center, the contractors are adding the finishing touches, and we hope to have it completed in a few weeks. We have been fortunate to receive many donations from many generous sources, including our own residents, and we are on track to have the building paid in full without debt. While most municipalities seek long term funding and bonds for a similar structure, we have been able to spend wisely. While we should be able to finish the core of the building debt free, we still have a need for donations for things such as audio/visual, furnishings, landscaping, and more. We are making one last request and asking everyone to dig deep. We still have matching funds available, so any donations up to $5,000 will be doubled. In other words, your $100 donation will become $200, and your $5,000 donation will become $10,000. We will also provide you with a donation receipt, which may help with your taxes. Thanks again for your generosity. Together we will fund and build a beautiful space for our community for decades to come.

Thanks for being great neighbors.

Sincerely,

Richard L Sorensen
