Huntsville Town is seeking two (2) committed, part-time, hard-working employees that are dedicated to long-term, reliable maintenance for the Town. The positions are for a Maintenance Supervisor and an Assistant. Duties include but are not limited to:
· Assist in waterline maintenance for both culinary and secondary systems, installation of meters and some water line repairs.
· Blue Stake Coordinator.
· Snow Plowing, road maintenance, pothole repair, sign maintenance.
· Oversee and supervise repairs being performed by outside contractors, small engine repair.
· Coordinate and direct Weber County inmates through Weber County Sheriff’s Department and provide work required.
· General maintenance for Town Buildings, assist with green waste landfill, some mowing and town maintenance for side road landscaped areas.
Essential job functions include:
· Operate construction and maintenance equipment and power tools such as backhoes, snowplow truck, chippers, chainsaws, trimmers and other small engine equipment.
· Maintain hand tools and perform preventative maintenance on trucks and equipment.
· Know and understand underground utility locating procedures and “blue stake” policies and procedures.
· Read and interpret basic maps and blueprints.
· Water line GPS mapping
· Install street barricades and cones prior to performance of repair activities or special events.
· Utilize proper safety precautions related to all work performed.
· Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner, provide information within the area of assignment, resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
· Snow removal for the Town streets.
· Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of water mains, services, fire hydrants, valves, detector checks, and backflow prevention devices.
· Assist in pipe laying and pipeline repairs. Assist in tapping main lines and boring for service installations.
· Check water lines and meters for leaks; make water line connections and set meters.
· Conduct high water bill inspections; install, repair, and replace meters and meter vaults and boxes.
· Remove old water meters and set new ones; repair and replace rings and covers; continually inspect repairs.
· Assist in special events and support for various events throughout the Town.
· Inspect, diagnose, and locate mechanical difficulties on city automobiles, trucks, and a variety of diesel and gasoline powered maintenance and construction equipment.
· Perform basic truck maintenance.
· Maintain and repair shop equipment.
· Maintain a clean and organized environment in the Town Shop. Coordinate repairs with outside contractors.
· Maintain and coordinate signs and sign maintenance throughout the Town. Tree and brush trimming on public side roads.
Education and Experience Requirements:
· High School Diploma or two years related job experience.
· Water experience preferred.
· Previous snowplow driving is preferred.
· Ability to obtain a Utah Class “B” CDL within 150 days of appointment.
Applicant must have the ability to work on their own and be willing to communicate regularly and often with office staff and supervisors. Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of these positions. Candidates must be able to adjust their personal schedule respond to “on call” work hours. They will perform standby and on call assignments as needed and will need to respond with call backs in a timely manner.
Huntsville Town is looking for someone dedicated to longer term employment. An Ogden Valley Resident is preferred. Hours listed are part-time, up to 29 hours per week without benefits. Pay is hourly at $20.00 – $25.00 an hour based on the experience of the candidates.
