Weber Fire Annexation Update and Open Burn Update
9/29/2026
- The State has rescinded the Stage 1 Fire Restrictions as of Sunday, 9/20. Residents can now apply for an open burn permit.
Please note you are required to check the airshed each day you plan to burn. If you have already obtained a burn permit, you need to make sure the day you plan to burn, the airshed is over the 500. Open burning is not permittable on any day if the threshold is below the 500. If you are applying for a permit and the airshed is below the 500, you may not be able to get a permit that day. You can check back the next day and try to apply again.
Open burning is not permittable on any day if the threshold is below the 500.
Burn permits are good for two weeks or until October 30, 2026. You should keep the burn permit on hand, either physically or digitally.
To apply for a permit, visit the Division of Air Quality or the Weber Fire Website to check the airshed and to apply for a burn permit. https://www.weberfiredistrict.com/burning-info - There are two black buttons, one to check the airshed and one to apply.
